Q: Location
Where are you located and do you have a retail salon we can visit?
A:
Our company operates out of an office in Steinbach, MB, Canada. We do not carry inventory or operate a retail location at this time. One of the reasons our prices are so very very low is because we have eliminated those overhead costs. We offer a great selection of made to order gowns which are shipped straight to your door in less time then it would take to receive your order through a walk in bridal salon!
If you are local, and wish to speak with us in person, appointments can be made by contacting us via email.
Q: Alterations
How do I get alterations done?
A:
If you take the time to make your measurements as accurate as possible, alterations should not be needed. If you measurements are not accurate, you will be responsible for the cost of alterations. We can recommend local seamstresses to you if need be, but we can not stress the importance of accurate measurements enough! Please visit our Sizing Information page for more details.
Q: Taking Measurments
What measurements do you need and how do I take them?
A:
We highly recommend having your measurements taken by a professional for the best accuracy. Most tux rental shops will do them for you for free. If you woudl prefer to have a friend or family member do them, we will provide instructions. PLEASE, do not take them yourself. It is very very hard to get accurate measurements yourself and that may result in costly alterations.
The measurements we need vary with the design of the dress. For example, a dress with sleeves reguires the Shoulder to Shoulder measurement while a strapless dress doesn't. Here are a list of the measurements we generally require:
Bust Natural Waist Hips Shoulder to Floor (with the shoes you will wear, or something of similar height) Natural Waist to Floor (with the shoes you will wear, or something of similar height) Shoulder to Shoulder
For a sheath or mermaid, we will require an Upper Hip and Lower Hip measurement as well.
Q: Sizing Chart
Why don't you offer a sizing chart?
A:
The one downfall with buying online is that you don't get free alterations. IF you don't fit an exact size, having the dress altered can cost as much as the dress itself! Our goal here at Chrys Cross Bridal is to save YOU money! And one of the ways we do this is by making all our gowns to your exact measurements, rather then a preset size!
90% of our customers have found that this has totally elimated the need for alterations all together! For the few that have needed alterations, they are generally very minor and inexpensive!
Once your order has been placed and paid for, we will contact you for your measurements. Please read "Taking Measurements" for more information.
Q: Returns & Exchanges
Do you except returns or exchanges?
A:
We guarantee all our gowns will arrive in perfect, brand new condition. If there are any manufacturers defects or shipping issues(damage or loss), we will provide an exchange. It time does not permit an exchange, we will refer you to a local professional who will do necessary repairs for you, and we will cover the bill.
Because all of our gowns are made to order, to your exact measurements, we do not accept returns in case of poor fit. For custom designs, we will provide pictures for you to accept prior to shipping in case adjustments need to be made. I will also personally double check the final gown to make sure the measurements are exactly as you had instructed.
Q: Lay A Way Plan
How does your lay a way plan work?
A:
Our lay a way plan is great for those brides on a budget! The lay-a-way plan allows you to make payments on your dress or total order until the whole bill is shipped. A minimum of 15% is required within 7 days of a lay a way order. The remaining balance will be paid in monthly payments, which will be determined based on your needs, and when the gowns need to be ready by!
Lay-A-Way plans are subject to the same policies as all orders, and all payments are non-refundable. In the case of special circumstances, a partial refund, minus a 25% restock fee may be issued at our discretion but only it the order has not yet begun production.
Please note, orders are not shipped - and made to order gowns are not made - until after the last payment is received.

Q: Payment Methods
What forms of payment do you except?
A:
Currently, we accept major credit cards though our secure Paypal server. You do not need an account with Paypal to use your credit card. We also accept funded or echeck payments through Paypal or you may send your payment by certified cheque or money order. Please use our checkout, and pick the money order/check option. You can then print out a receipt to include with your payment.
PLEASE NOTE: as a policy, all international checks and money orders are held for 3 weeks before the order is processed. We will also ONLY accept money orders in the amount of the order total, we will not accept additional payments to be forwarded elsewhere.
Q: Product Origin
You are located in Canada, does this mean the products are made in Canada?
A:
No. I work with a talented group of designers and while I would love to add some Canadian Designers in the near future, at this time, I don't. Most of our products come from overseas and Europe.
Q: Delivery Time Frame
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
A:
All of our gowns are made to order, so please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery. International orders may take 10-12 weeks. Rush orders and express shipping may be available, please email us for details.
MATERNITY GOWNS will arrive in the US in 3-4 weeks, 4-5 weeks in Canada.
Q: Shipping Services
What shipping service will me items be shipped with and can I get a tracking number?
A:
We pick the carrier that is the most effiecent for that order, and may use EMS, Canada Post, UPS, USPS or FedEx.
EFFECTIVE AUGUST 12/07: We have had problems recently with customers claiming gowns have not arrived. To protect both us and you, insurance and tracking with delivery signature is now automatically included and mandatory on all orders.
Q: Shipping Costs Internationally
I am located outside North America, what are the shipping fees for my order?
A:
For international orders, there will be an international shipping fee of $20. This does not get added to your total and will be billed seperately before the order is shipped.
If you are paying by cashiers cheque or credit card, please include the additional $20 fee with your payment for faster processing.
Q: Shipping Costs In North America
What will I be paying for shipping in the US(or Canada)?
A:
All items, except our monthly specials are shipped for FREE regardless of the size of the order!
Items listed in are Specials Category will be charged a flat rate of $30 for shipping within North America. This will automatically be added on to the total when you check out.
